We are glad to inform you that our article entitled “Striving towards the Deployment of Bio Energy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS): A Review of Research Priorities and Assessment Needs” has been published in the Sustainability journal.

Meeting global climate targets is imperative, especially considering the Paris Agreement’s goals and stabilizing “well-below 2 °C above pre-industrial levels”. Recent climate scenarios exhibit that BECCS has a significant mitigation potential to this end. However, while BECCS is already considered a promising option, stakeholders and policymakers remain, still, skeptical. This article presents research priorities and assessment needs to intensify the further deployment of BECCS, considering relevant technology associations’/platforms’ perspectives and insights from scientific literature. The main outcome of the study is a list of ten (10) main research priorities, along with more specific assessment needs for each priority area, and policy implications for the facilitation of decision-making
