Building on the legacy of PROSPECT+: PROSPECT CUBE kicks off in Athens!

The kick-off meeting of the LIFE Programme-funded project PROSPECT CUBE took place on 9–10 October 2025 in Glyfada, Athens, hosted by our team and organised in cooperation with the project’s coordinator, the Institute of European Energy and Climate Policy (IEECP).

A strong start for PROSPECT CUBE

The meeting brought together partners from across Europe to discuss and advance PROSPECT’s mission to support local and regional authorities (LRAs) in implementing sustainable energy actions through innovative financing schemes (i.e. EPC, revolving fund, soft loans) and enablers (i.e. energy communities, one-stop-shops).

The two-day kick-off meeting set an engaging tone for the project’s implementation, filled with lively discussions, idea exchanges, and interactive sessions. Partners explored PROSPECT CUBE’s shared vision, identified key priorities for the upcoming months, and discussed how to strengthen and expand the vibrant community established under PROSPECT+.

The meeting concluded with a shared sense of excitement among partners for the next steps! Kudos to all for their enthusiasm, collaboration and commitment!

About PROSPECT CUBE

Building on the successful legacy of the Horizon 2020 projects PROSPECT and PROSPECT+, PROSPECT CUBE will continue to support cities and regions on their path towards climate neutrality by expanding peer-to-peer learning opportunities and providing capacity-building activities tailored to their needs.

The project’s overall objective is to deliver a tested and robust capacity-building programme based on peer-to-peer exchanges, equipping LRAs with the right competences to implement sustainable energy actions by mobilising private capital alongside public funding.

The programme will be inclusive and multilingual, ensuring that even the smallest municipalities can access and benefit from the knowledge exchange.

Under PROSPECT+, more than 290 representatives from local authorities in 27 European countries were supported in developing and financing their sustainable energy and climate plans. PROSPECT CUBE aims to scale up this impact, reaching over 356 local and regional authorities across Europe.

Looking forward

Stay tuned for more updates as PROSPECT CUBE’s empowers cities, connect peers, and turns knowledge into action!
