ENSMOV: Final conference and project meeting in Brussels!

News

The Technoeconomics of Energy Systems laboratory – TEESlab participated in the final ENSMOV conference and project meeting, held on the 19th and 20th of October, in Brussels.

The objective of ENSMOV was to enhance the implementation and monitoring and verification practices of Energy Saving Policies under Article 7 of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED). During the past 3 years, ENSMOV has addressed key points relative to policy design and Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) practices, through 3 learning cycles of one-year exchange and debate between the various stakeholders of these energy policies.

During the project meeting, Dimitra Tzani, Research Associate at the Technoeconomics of Energy Systems laboratory – TEESlab, presented our recent study “Exploring the energy saving potential and cost-effectiveness of different energy efficiency measures in the residential sector in Europe” based on the results of our DREEM model.

Within the context of the final project conference entitled “Enhancing the implementation, monitoring and verification practices of Energy Saving Policies under Article 7 of the EED” participants were able to learn and discuss with experts about the key project’s recommendations, the evolution of the  Energy Efficiency Obligation Schemes (EEOs) and alternative measures review and the challenges to come.

The success of the ENSMOV project will be followed by the recently EC-funded LIFE ENSMOV+ project which aims to facilitate a smoother transition in the new Article 7 EED era under the Fit-for-55 package.
