Learn from Cities and Regions on Innovative Financing

News

Join our peer-to-peer learning programme on innovative financing! We are looking for European regional and local authorities to join our learning journey either as mentors or mentees.

What is PROSPECT?
PROSPECT is a three-year Horizon 2020 project that aims to create a Peer to Peer Learning Programme for Cities and Regions to learn with and from each other on how to finance and implement their sustainable energy and climate action plans using innovative schemes. The learning programme has five (5) thematic modules, namely public buildings, private buildings, public lighting, transport, and cross-sectoral, in which regional and local authorities, who can serve as mentors or mentees, will learn in two ways: through peer mentoring and study visits. The learning will empower participants to make use of best practices in developing financing for these plans, which have been implemented successfully in other cities and regions in the European Union.

Why join the learning programme?

Public authorities have varying levels of knowledge, skills, and capacity for sustainable energy solutions. We aim to strengthen collaboration and engagement among cities and regions and build their capacity through knowledge transfer. This programme will enable public authorities and their agencies to use the rich experience available, which is yet difficult to appropriate solely on their own, and to link public authorities at the regional and local levels and their respective associations in an intra-European network through an innovative peer-to-peer leaning experience on financing sustainable energy projects and measures.

How to join?
Interested to participate in the learning programme?

The 1st learning cycle of PROSPECT will start in May 2018. Representatives from local and regional authorities can sign up as mentor or mentee to exchange knowledge and experience on how to apply innovative financing schemes. Each applicant can choose between the five learning modules of PROSPECT and decide whether to participate in a study visit or the Peer Mentoring programme.

Registration is open until the 16th February 2018!
