Welcome to our new Life SRI2MARKET project!

The SRI2MARKET project, funded by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) and the European Commission’s Life Programme, officially kicked off!

SRI2MARKET aims to improve the knowledge and capabilities of six (6) Member States (Austria, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Portugal, and Spain) with regards to the introduction of the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) in their national regulation and market.

SRI is a common EU methodology that rates the smart readiness of buildings (or building units) for their capability to perform three (3) key functionalities: (i) optimize energy efficiency and overall in-use performance, (ii) adapt their operation to the needs of the occupants, and (iii) adapt their operation according to signals from the grid (to provide demand response services). Learn more about SRI here.

During the kick-off meeting, which took place in Brussels on the 15th, 16th and 17th of November 2022, an overview of the project’s vision and objectives was provided, while synergies with other LIFE SRI cluster projects were explored.

In particular, during the first and third day, a detailed overview of the project’s workplan was provided through analysing individual Tasks in each Work Package (WP) and the necessary actions to support their implementation. Representatives from all the 12 partners participated in the meeting and highlighted their current experience with SRI as well as their contribution to the project’s aim.

In the second day, SRI2MARKET representatives participated in the SRI workshop, organized by CINEA. The European Commission’s SRI service contract as well as representatives of all the LIFE SRI cluster projects explored opportunities for collaboration aiming to bridge projects and policy implementation and streamline their activities.

Our team, represented by Dimitra Tzani and Zois Katiforis, will be mainly involved in the activities related to the integration of the SRI with national regulation. Furthermore, TEESlab will support the provision of recommendations to support decisions of building owners, elaborating DREEM model for building modelling and simulation activities.

Stay tuned for more information and updates about the SRI2MARKET!
