The 12th annual edition of Sustainable Places Conference (SP2024), organised by R2M Solution and Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), will be held from 23rd to 25th of September 2024 in a hybrid format. The in-person sessions will take place in Luxembourg at the European Convention Center Luxembourg. During the conference, parallel technical sessions and project-organized workshops, as well as paper sessions, will explore the various conference themes including among others Energy Communities, Smart Cities and Urban Transition, Renewable Energy Technologies, Sustainable Construction & Renovation, Decarbonization & Circularity.
We invite you to join our session “Fostering sustainable energy projects in cities and regions – lessons learnt and key takeaways from a peer-to-peer capacity building programme” on 24 September 2024 at 11:00-12:30 to discuss how to accelerate energy transition in cities and regions!
Our research associate, Danai Sofia Exintaveloni will participate at this session and will present along with Giulia Viero from the Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy Foundation (IEECP) key findings from the Horizon 2020 funded PROSPECT+ project on the implementation of local energy and climate plans.
In particular, their presentation will highlight key lessons learnt from the design and delivery of an impactful learning programme, provide insights on the barriers and drivers local and regional authorities face during the implementation of their climate actions and point out relevant policy outcomes and recommendations.
