Vassilis Stavrakas holds a Bachelor (B.Sc.) and a Master (M.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) – (8.36/10 equivalent to first – 5% ranking according to academic performance). He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alexandros Flamos and is working as a Research Scientist at Techno-economics of Energy Systems laboratory (TEESlab) and University of Piraeus Research Center (UPRC), participating in the EC funded Horizon 2020 – Research and Innovation Framework Programmes “TRANSrisk” and “CARISMA”. He is also a Teaching Assistant (TA) at the University of Piraeus, teaching Operations Research II, Engineering Economics and Techno-economics of Energy Systems. His research profile focuses on Computer Science and Optimization Methods, Sustainable Energy Systems Modeling, Climate Change Mitigation Options (CCMOs) and Game Theory. He has a computational research background and knowledge of different programming languages and engineering software. So far, he has 3 publications in high-impact International Scientific Journals and several announcements at International Conferences.
