Dimitra Tzani is working as a Research Associate at the Technoeconomics of Energy Systems laboratory (TEESlab) at the University of Piraeus (UNIPI) in Greece. She is also an Expert in Energy Efficiency and Buildings aspects at the Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy (IEECP). She is currently participating in various EC-funded projects and her research profile focuses on energy efficiency, energy poverty and energy transition in the building sector, as well as on Building Energy Simulation (BES), energy demand and management modelling.
She holds a Bachelor (B.Sc.) and a Master (M.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering, with specialisation in Energy Engineering, from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and she is currently pursuing her PhD degree in the area of energy efficiency policies and innovative financing business models (under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alexandros Flamos in UNIPI). Finally, she is Teaching Assistant at UNIPI, teaching Energy and Climate Policy.
Her working experience in EC-funded projects includes the INHERIT, PROSPECT, ENSMOV, SENSEI, SENTINEL and SOCIALWATT projects, where she investigated different energy transition aspects in the building sector, working closely with other researchers, policymakers, businesses and local authorities.
So far, Dimitra has published 4 papers in peer-reviewed international scientific journals and her work has been accepted for presentation in several international scientific conferences and events, including among others the Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water, and Environment Systems (SDEWES), the International Conference on Smart Energy Systems (SESAAU) and the eceee Summer Study.
