Participating in the “IAM COMPACT” kick-off meeting in Athens

Dr. Vassilis Stavrakas, Senior Research Associate at the Technoeconomics of Energy Systems laboratory (TEESlab), represented our team in the kick-off meeting of our new Horizon Europe project “IAM COMPACT”, which took place in Glyfada, Greece, on the 8th and the 9th of September 2022.

During his presentations, Dr. Stavrakas presented TEESlab and the modelling capacities that our team brings onboard, while he also presented a preliminary concept of the Communication, Dissemination, and Exploitation (CDE) strategy that the project will follow to maximise its impact and achieve its objectives.

He also engaged in interesting discussions about the emerging opportunities and challenges that the project will face during the next 3 years of its implementation, as for example, the development of real-world policy-relevant transition pathways, the unpredictability of the next years caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the energy crisis in the EU, etc.
