New Special Issue in Elsevier’s “Energy” journal: Modelling in support of the European energy transition: Pathways towards the 2030 targets and the vision of climate neutrality by 2050

We are proud to announce that a new Editorial article, written by our Senior Research Associate Dr. Vassilis Stavrakas, has been published in Elsevier’s high-impact journal “Energy”.

This Editorial, titled “Modelling in support of the European energy transition: Pathways towards the 2030 targets and the vision of climate neutrality by 2050”, brings together a Special Issue collection of scientific articles, which present results from a suite of different Energy System Models (ESMs) and Integrated Assessment Models (IAMs).

Results of the Special Issue:

  • Reflect on key challenges and transitional issues across Europe’s energy systems.
  • Explore different transition pathways moving towards the 2030 targets.
  • Assess strategies for achieving the vision of climate neutrality by 2050, through multi-scale modelling approaches.
