Dimitris Fotopoulos holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, specialized in Energy Engineering, acquired from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He currently works as a Research Associate at the Technoeconomics of Energy Systems Laboratory (TEESlab) at the University of Piraeus (UNIPI).
His educational and academic background focuses on the optimization of energy systems, thermal plants and antipollution technologies, renewable energy technologies and cost of electricity production. His research profile ranges from utilization of waste heat from industrial processes while in NTUA, to energy systems modelling, climate change mitigation options (CCMOs) and technoeconomic and decarbonization pathways analysis of energy systems in UNIPI. He currently participates in the Horizon 2020 project “ENCLUDE” funded by the European Commission.
